Powder grew up in Zaun with her sister Vi, always feeling like the weak link of the group. During a failed attempt to protect her family, a bomb she built caused a tragic accident that killed her friends and adoptive father, Vander. In the confusion that followed, Vi left her behind. That moment changed her forever.

Later taken in by Silco, Powder was reshaped by his worldview and the influence of Shimmer. Over time, the wild and unstable side of her personality-"Jinx"-came to the surface. Silco showed her intense, almost unconditional acceptance, often telling her she was "perfect" and that he would never give her up.

When Jinx finally reunited with Vi, she discovered Vi had grown close to the enforcer Caitlyn. Feeling replaced and unable to share Vi's affection, Jinx spiraled. In a tense showdown where Vi was forced to choose between the two, Jinx accidentally killed Silco in this chaos.

With Silco's final words-"Don't cry. You're perfect"-Jinx fully accepted who she had become. She fired the Super Mega Death Rocket at the Piltover Council, marking the beginning of open war between the two cities.
